Frequently I am asked if I got a shop and what are my business hours. But I am just doing it as a private hobby and all items are put up in a rebuilt double garage.

Banjos and banjo matters are part of my life for over 50 years. Years back I had built up a collection of over 200 interesting 4-string banjos of the 20's and 30's, over 100 historical 5-6-7-string banjos of the early period from about 1880-1915, more than 60 fancy decorated French banjos, large and smaller banjo sculptures by all kind of material from wood, porcelain through iron and genuine bronze, paintings, etc, etc, etc.

About 25 years ago I decided to hand over the whole collection to the great Japanese collector Akira Tsumura from Tokyo. A lot of this is shown in his banjo books. All that I got now has been build up again and was not specifically collected.

Because of my many years of passion for banjos I still kept so many connections to people all over the world and therefore still finding interesting items. Also I am offering assistance with the sale of musical instruments from collectors and players due to old age, sickness and death. For this activity I don’t ask any commission. Of course I don’t reject a voluntary donation, since the packing and forwarding of the large boxes is a tough job especially for my increasing arthritis problems. At least it gives me always new opportunities to have interesting banjos around me, especially since my active playing in bands is more and more limited.

Although I pass on banjos and banjo matters to collectors and players, my display room keeps being overstocked. These photographs recently taken will give an impression of my place.
